Qatar is a reliable source in the field of energy, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani has stressed in an interview with Bloomberg.The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wednesday published an infographic highlighting some of the key points mentioned by HE Sheikh Mohamed.Energy poverty is one of the issues that needs to be addressed, he said. "We are trying our best to help in providing Europe and countries in need of energy with whatever capacity we have."According to the Bloomberg report, Qatar and Germany are continuing to discuss supplies of natural gas, as Europe tries to reduce its dependency on Russia for the fuel.Also, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is scheduled to travel to Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE this weekend, and discuss shipments of gas and hydrogen, the Bloomberg report added.Qatar believes in reviving the nuclear deal with Iran, and in "freeing our region of nuclear weapons", he said. Qatar has engaged with all parties in the negotiations in recent days and “we have heard positive intentions from them,” HE Sheikh Mohamed told Bloomberg. “I believe that when the parties get together and they can find a common ground for these areas of disagreement, they can reach a deal.”Meanwhile, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs said "we are proud of being able to help and facilitate the evacuation of more than 80,000 Afghans".He also noted that instead of focusing only on evacuation, there is a need to address the economic and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
