Kulinarya Qatar to hold Filipino food, culture and trade festival

Kulinarya Qatar has announced that it will be organising the Philippine Food, Culture & Trade Festival Qatar (PFCTFQ) from October 20 to 21, at the Saphire Plaza Hotel.
Kulinarya Qatar chairwoman & PFCTFQ overall head Dahlia Agbanlog thanked the Philippine embassy Doha for its collaboration. She said the event serves as a precursor to many other community and public events already planned by Kulinarya and the embassy until 2023.PFCTFQ organising committee vice-chairperson Layla Bernal said the two-day event will be highlighted by the Kulinarya Food Court, Bazaar & Trade Fair Exhibition, as well as the Munting Prinsipe at Prinsesa Pageant for children in the 4-10 age group, a Tiktok competition, a HipHop Battle Championship, Karaoke challenges, and live band competition.Other activities include the ‘Sagala’, a Filipiniana fashion parade, as well as cultural song and dance performances from the Philippine School Doha and the Philippine International School Qatar, activities of ‘Pinoy’ civic groups led by Tanghalang OPI, photography classes, healthy cooking shows, special talks, and several on-the-spot competitions. PFCTFQ exhibitors' manager Belle Modin said 16 food outlets and 14 trade fair participants will be present at the bazaar and exhibition. Each restaurant will be exclusively offering one special delicacy during the event. Exhibitors will also offer special promos on Philippine properties, garments, handicrafts, accessories, and services from health to insurance. PFCTFQ programme director and operations head Joseph Timothy Rivera said round-trip tickets to the Philippines will be raffled by Philippine Airlines, while luxury hotel staycation vouchers will be given by Megaworld International. Raffle prizes will also include signature titanium cookware from Saladmaster. Consular and social welfare services from the Philippine embassy, such as SSS, Pag-Ibig Fund, OWWA, and Comelec registration booths are also expected to participate in the event.
