A visual delight awaits spectators at the Doha Corniche during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Running throughout the mega event, from November 20 until December 18, a special water show with the "biggest special effects" will enthrall the public at the Corniche, according to the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC).
The SC said in a tweet that there will be six shows every day during the World Cup, at 3pm, 3.30pm, 4pm, 4.30pm, 5pm and 5.30pm, in addition to a grand daily evening show at 9pm.
The Corniche will host Qatar's global street carnival during the World Cup. Besides the daily water shows, there will be stellar performances, concerts, arts, culture and storytelling. "The carnival-like atmosphere along the Corniche will celebrate nations from around the world," the SC says.
There will be over 150 food outlets and four live stages, featuring family- and child-friendly entertainment, including daily water and light shows.
Stretching from the Museum of Islamic Art to Hotel Park (Sheraton), the Corniche festivities will take place from 10am until midnight.
As reported recently in Gulf Times, preparations are in full swing at the Corniche, Souq Waqif and Al Bidda Park where artistic performances, concerts and live football screening will be held during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
It’s expected that the Doha Corniche will host more than 120,000 fans a day while featuring various celebrations and live match broadcasts during the tournament. There will be musical and cultural performances from 10 am while visitors can go on boating and heritage walks to explore Doha.
Visitors and fans can reach Souq Waqif, Al Bidda Park and the Corniche by using Souq Waqif, Corniche, West Bay and Al Bidda Park Metro stations.
Fans will have a lot to choose from in Qatar during the World Cup when they are not watching matches at any of the state-of-the-art stadiums. These include the Corniche festivities, FIFA Fan Festival at Al Bidda Park, Lusail Boulevard, 974 Beach Club, Arcadia Spectacular, MDL Beast Presents – ARAVIA, Al Maha Island - Lusail, D’reesha Performing Arts Festival, Festival in Motion, Qatar Fashion United by CR Runway, Souq Waqif, Katara - the Cultural Village, Dhow Boat Tours and more.
