His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held an official session of talks with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Ak Orda Presidential Palace in the capital Astana on Wednesday morning.
At the outset of the session, President Tokayev welcomed His Highness the Amir and the accompanying delegation, noting that His Highness the Amir's visit will promote the cooperation between the two friendly countries in all fields and upgrading them to higher levels, and looking forward to further joint cooperation.
For his part, His Highness the Amir noted his happiness at visiting the friendly Republic of Kazakhstan, expressing thanks to the Kazakh President for the warm reception and hospitality, and wishing the Republic of Kazakhstan further progress and prosperity. His Highness the Amir expressed the hope that the visit pushes forward the Qatari-Kazakh relations to serve their common interests by investing opportunities and the potentials available for both countries.
During the talks session, the two sides discussed cooperation ties between the two countries and ways of enhancing and developing them, mainly in the fields of economy, investment, culture and sports, in addition to regional and international issues of common concern.
The session was attended by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, and a number of Their Excellencies member of the official delegation.
On the Kazakh side, the session of talks was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tileuberdi, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Timur Suleimenov, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration Serik Zhumangarin, the Special Envoy of the President of Kazakhstan for International Cooperation Erzhan Kazykhan, the Chairman of the Sovereign Wealth Fund "Samruk-Kazyna" Almasadam Satkaliev, the Minister of Defense Ruslan Zhaksylykov, the Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev, and a number of high-ranking officials.
His Highness the Amir and the the President of Kazakhstan held earlier a meeting during which they discussed aspects of bolstering the cooperation between the two friendly countries and a number of issues of common concern.
