The Indian Business & Professionals Council (IBPC Qatar) Healthcare Focus Group recently organised the fifth session from their Converging Care Series in association with the Indian Doctors Club of Qatar (IDC-Q), titled 'Mental Fitness Initiative.' At the event, IDC-Q launched a collaborative initiative 'best-friends', to share awareness of mental fitness for better living.
The event was inaugurated jointly by IDC- Q secretary Dr Saibu George and IBPC Qatar president Jaffer Us Sadik, and anchored by Dr Merlin Thomas. The mission of the initiative was presented by Shasanth Moothedath, founder of Stellar Innovation.
Scientific talks were given by Dr Abdelhamid Afana and Dr Tisha Rachel. The website for the initiative, www.best-friends.org was launched during the event. The founding members - Dr Anwar Mohammed, Dr Riny Shoukath, Shasanth Moothedath, Dr Saibu George, Dr Merlin Thomas, Dr Nadeer Pallimooppan, Dr Soni C Das, Dr Mahesh Menon, Dr Sudeep Sethumadhavan, Rejil Jacob, Hussain Kombath, Dr Tisha Rachel and Dr Abdelhamid Afana - spoke on the importance of a fresh mind, an experienced mind, and a useful mind. IDC-Q cultural secretary Dr Riny Shoukath proposed a vote of thanks.
The IBPC Healthcare Focus Group brings together seven associated organisations, such as Qatar Association of Indian Dentists, Federation of Indian Nurses Qatar, Kerala Pharmacist Forum Qatar, Indian Physiotherapy Forum Qatar, United Nurses of India-Qatar, IDC-Q and Indian Association of Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration with the community.
