Qatar-based Indian entrepreneur J K Menon recently addressed the Europe-UK Regional Conference of Loka Kerala Sabha in London. The event was inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and presided by Industries Minister P Rajeev.
In his address, Menon, chairman of ABN Corporation and director, Norka Roots, government of Kerala, urged expatriates to use their investments for the growth of their country.
"We should discuss investment projects that are beneficial for the growth of the country. The projects put forward by the Kerala government such as airports, K-Rail, INKEL and other public sector institutions will provide opportunities for investment. Despite going through many crises including Covid-19, we are moving forward."
Describing the Loka Kerala Sabha as proof of the love and support given to the expatriates, Menon stressed there are many issues related to immigration in some countries and these have been discussed at the Europe-UK regional conference.
"There are many who take huge loans for higher studies in foreign universities, and it takes many years for them to repay such loans. There should be discussions on issues related to easing loan repayment and providing services for such individuals, who will have to work abroad for many years," he added.
Kerala ministers V Sivankutty, Veena George, Norka Roots resident vice chairman P Sriramakrishnan, vice chairman Yusufali M A, directors Dr Ravi Pillai, Dr Azad Moopan and special duty officer Venurajamani were among those who addressed the gathering.
