The President of the Association of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen in Turkey (MUSIAD), Mahmut Asmali, stressed the distinction of Turkish-Qatari relations, declaring that the association is in the process of opening a center in Doha with the aim of strengthening co-operation between Qatari and Turkish businessmen. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) from Istanbul, Asmali affirmed that his country relies a lot on the visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Turkey and the results of that visit on the future of bilateral relations between the two countries. He expressed his full confidence in the continuation of the Turkish brotherly and friendly relations with Qatar.
He noted that both countries went through very difficult stages, but they overcame all difficulties because of the solidarity and co-operation between them. Asmali pointed out to the prospects of co-operation between Turkey and Qatar in the fields of energy, banking and defence industries as well as food industries, noting that Qatar plays a major role in the field of energy and natural gas worldwide due to its capabilities and political weight.
He announced that the Association of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen in Turkey (MUSIAD) will organize next month an exhibition of Turkish products with the participation of Qatari businessmen. Regarding Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Asmali said that hosting the tournament in Qatar is a great success and confirms its ability to organize a wonderful tournament, wishing the success of this tournament.
Regarding the role that Ankara plays in the global grain supply crisis, he referred to the great role that Turkey played in averting a food disaster in the region, through its mediating role in the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and the signing of the Istanbul agreement on grain last July. He explained that Turkey has won the admiration of the world's countries for the great role it played in the grain crisis.
