Sheikh Khalifa lauded the distinguished relations between Qatari and Egyptian businessmen, saying that the private sector on both sides plays a key role in developing the two countries’ economic relations.
On Qatar-Egypt trade, he said Egypt's exports to Qatar include television sets, doors, windows, and “unplasticised chloride polymers,” while Qatar exported ethylene polymers, aluminium, and chemical products.
Sheikh Khalifa also stressed the strong will of both parties to further strengthen commercial and investment co-operation by establishing joint ventures in various economic sectors.
The chamber’s delegation, which was led by Sheikh Khalifa, included board members Rashid bin Nasser al-Kaabi, Mohamed bin Ahmed al-Obaidli, and Ibtihaj al-Ahmadani, as well as the general manager Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi.
The celebrations were held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s headquarters on October 13 and 14 and included several sessions that reviewed the role of chambers of commerce at the global level, the vision of the private sector on climate change, and the role of Mediterranean ports in global trade.
Sheikh Khalifa said Qatar and Alexandria chambers enjoy good relations, which come in the framework of the distinguished relations between Qatar Chamber and the Federation of Egyptian Chambers, as well as through their membership in the Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.
Al-Ahmadani participated in the ‘Mediterranean Women Entrepreneurs Forum’, which was held on the sidelines of the celebrations. During the forum, she highlighted the leading role played by businesswomen in economy and trade. She also stressed that Qatari businesswomen own companies in almost all sectors and have significant contributions to the economic development Qatar is witnessing.
