Ideal Indian School (IIS) conducted an empowerment programme for its teachers as part of the school’s policy to keep the teaching faculty updated on the developments taking place in the field of education and pedagogy.
The key topic of the programme was 'Integration of 21st-century skills in classroom teaching', which focused on the discussion of the '4Cs' related to learning skills: communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.
The team also had a presentation on life skills called FLIPS (flexibility, leadership, initiative, productivity and social skills).
Opening the session, principal Shaik Shamim Saheb emphasised the need of focusing on developing the skills that will help students meet the challenges of the 21st century.
The co-ordinator of the programme, Sajid Shamim, AHM, Boys’ Section, spoke about the rationale behind the session and its relevance in today's context.
The entire session was moderated by Ashok Kumar Tiwari. The vice-principal of the Boys’ Section developed a good rapport with the speakers at regular intervals and engaged the audience by conveying the message from the speakers to the teachers.
The session ended with a vote of thanks by Sajid Shamim.
