The Indian Cultural Centre recently organised, under the guidance of the embassy of India, a hybrid ceremony to mark the launch of the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2023 website.
The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) recently organised, under the guidance of the embassy of India, a hybrid ceremony to mark the launch of the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2023 website.The event will be held in Indore, located in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, from January 8 to 10, 2023. The website can be found at https://pbdindia.gov.in/Indian Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs V Muraleedharan virtually participated in the website launch ceremony.In Qatar, the ceremony was witnessed live by many Indian community leaders and residents, who are keen to attend the event in January.T Angeline Premalatha, chargé d'affaires; Xavier Dhanraj, first secretary and ICC co-ordinating officer; Hassan Chougule, Pravasi Bharatiya Samman recipient; P N Baburajan, ICC president; and Seenu Pillai, past ICC general secretary, spoke on the occasion. The speakers recalled their experiences of previous editions of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Varanasi and Bengaluru. On both occasions, the Indian diaspora in Qatar was the largest with more than 150 delegates. This time, the embassy, ICC and community leaders have committed to cross the 200 mark.Sudhir Gupta, ICC joint secretary, steered the launch event in Qatar, while Krishna Kumar Bandhakavi, ICC general secretary, briefed the gathering on the formation of the co-ordinating committee. Subramanya Hebbagelu, ICC vice-president, expressed the vote of thanks.
