The Doha Corniche will be dedicated to pedestrians from November 1 to December 19, in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Qatar 2022 team announced Friday in a tweet.



The announcement enlisted the following means of accessing Central Doha:

Taxi & Rideshare

   Pick up and drop off zones in:

* Ashghal Tower

* Al Bidda Park
* Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex
* Souq Waqif
* Museum of Islamic Art Park
* Old Doha Port

    Doha Metro Nearest stations:

* Al Bidda Park  
* Corniche (exit only)
* West Bay Qatar Energy

Buses

* Free Shuttle loop around Central Doha to facilitate easy access to activations.
* Routes available on Hayya to Qatar 2022 App or Mowasalat website.

Park & Ride

Parking spaces in Central Doha are limited. It is recommended to use Park & Ride from various locations around Doha to access Corniche:

* Qatar University
* Al Qassar
* Umm Ghuwailina
* Al Wakrah Al Messilla

The traffic restriction was announced first on October 12 by the Technical Team of the Corniche Committee.  First-Lieutenant Khaled al-Mulla, head of the Technical Team, had said vehicles will be diverted away from Corniche Road at the intersections of Ras Bu Aboud, Al Mina, Al Seifen, Amiri Diwan, Al Maha, Barzan and Sheraton, during the perioid of restriction.
