Algeria summit: Amir's attendance a great support to Algeria

Vice-President of the People's National Assembly of Algeria (lower house of Parliament) Allel Bouteldja affirmed that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's acceptance of the invitation of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to attend the 31st Ordinary Arab Summit in Algeria is tantamount to "accepting the invitation of a brother", and it is a great support for Algeria in hosting the summit, stressing that Qatar and Algeria are seeking Arab unity and defending the Palestinian cause.

In an exclusive interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), He said that Qatar, under the leadership of His Highness the Amir, has never failed to provide full support to Algeria. His Highness previously visited Algeria in 2020, and he also attended the opening ceremony of the Mediterranean Games in Oran in June, 2022. On the other hand, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune visited Qatar in February, 2022, and these visits reflect the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries, he added.

He explained that the mutual visits between the leaderships of the two countries were success, as they led to joint projects and opened the doors to Qatari investments in Algeria and joint cooperation in several fields such as agriculture, health and energy, he said, adding that this is what Algeria aspires to among all Arab countries to raise the level of solidarity between the Arab peoples and develop the region to give it an international weight.

Vice-President of the People's National Assembly of Algeria praised the level of Qatari-Algerian political and economic relations, affirming that they are distinct and historical and have been characterised by mutual respect, common stances and integrated work since long time. These relations have also become an example internationally and regionally, as they are brotherly relations more than anything else, he added.

He also valued the stances of Qatar, its government and people, towards Algeria in particular and just issues in general, saying that the Qataris always defend just regional and international issues. He noted the congruence of views between the two sides on the Palestinian cause, and the efforts that Qatar is making to bring the views of the Palestinian factions closer. This is what Algeria invested in, he said, adding that Algeria hosted the meeting of the Palestinian factions a few days ago, which resulted in Algerias declaration of Palestinian reconciliation and ending the division.

He affirmed the role of Qatar and Algeria in strengthening joint Arab action politically and economically and working to activate the role of the Arab League and joint action, especially since Qatar and Algeria have an international weight, as they are among the most important gas exporters in the world.

Regarding the Arab summit in Algeria, Vice-President of the People's National Assembly of Algeria Allel Bouteldja said that Algeria has worked a lot to make this summit a success, especially in light of the current conditions and crises at the Arab and international levels.

He expressed his optimism about the outcomes of this summit, especially after the meeting of the Palestinian factions in Algeria recently, which is considered a motive and a good omen for the announcement of Arab reunification and the achievement of integration in all fields.

He believed that the Arab countries are facing a historic opportunity to cooperate on the land of Algeria and restore cohesion to joint Arab action, affirming that sharing the common visions between Qatar and Algeria on many Arab issues will push Arab cooperation forward and strengthen firm stances towards urgent Arab files.

He underlined the need to take advantage of the Qatari role in mediating in many issues, pointing out that Qatar has played a major role in a number of international and regional crises, which has contributed positively to finding solutions to many issues in various continents of the world and increased the value of the political positions that Qatar takes, and thus Qatar's presence at the Algeria summit will inevitably enhance Arab action.

Concluding his exclusive interview with QNA, Vice-President of the People's National Assembly of Algeria expressed his great pride in Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. He said that it is enough for the Arabs to be proud that this tournament will be hosted by Qatar, which will be up to the responsibility and more, as the event itself is a historic event that will be immortalized in history, adding that Algerians are very proud of the Qataris and the success of Qatar in convincing the world to host this tournament, which will be the best tournament in the history of the most popular game in the world, as Qatar dazzled the world with its preparations even before the start of the World Cup.
