Commercial Bank has successfully participated in the Doha Environmental Actions Project (Deap Qatar) initiative to keep the country’s beaches clean, a statement said Tuesday. Deap Qatar, a non-profitable organisation, works to keep the safety and cleanliness of the beaches and deserts in the country, in collaboration with several governmental and private organisations. “Being one of the leading banks in Qatar, and as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and Go Green sustainable initiative, Commercial Bank organised a cleaning day for Mesaieed area, with the participation of 30 employees.”
The event on October 27 saw the employees engaged in a full cleaning sweep of the ‘Singing Sand Dunes’ in Mesaieed. Antonio Gamez Munoz, executive general manager and chief risk officer and chairman of the Sustainability Committee at Commercial Bank said: “Go Green is an initiative that we have undertaken in line with our strategy of sustainability to educate ourselves and the community about caring for the environment. Cleaning up beaches has a remarkable impact on preserving our environment and it shows a great example of Commercial Bank’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility in the community of Qatar. “As a leading bank, we are obligated to take the best and most effective measures to protect our environment for the future generations”.
