Qatar embassies continue to organise various events to promote World Cup

Several diplomatic missions of Qatar abroad continued organising a wide range of events to promote FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. In Ottawa, the Qatari embassy organised a ceremony which was attended by Canadian government officials, the Canadian Parliament representatives, representatives of the Canadian sport authorities, civil society and academics along with a host of members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Canada.In his remark, Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion in Canada Ahmed Hussen underscored the importance of the global football event that will be organised by Qatar, expressing his pleasure as a fan and football lover for the qualification of the Canada men's national soccer team, wishing all the participating teams more luck, and the tournament followers and the fans further enjoyment. In his remark, Qatar's ambassador to Canada Khalid Rashid Salem al-Hamoudi al-Mansouri presented an overview of the preparations Qatar has embarked upon since it won the bid to host the global tournament, adding that the State has spared no effort to provide the best conditions and means for the tournament success.The embassy allocated a part of the pavilion to embrace the ceremony for the countries qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar that are willing to introduce the aspects of its sport history and popular heritage, and performances received standing ovation from the attendees. In addition, the ceremony included an exhibition for the stadiums models where the world cup matches will be held, including their introductory video that was filmed on a special screen. In Athens, the Qatar embassy inaugurated a promotional pavilion for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on the sidelines of the 11th Arab-Hellenic Economic Forum that was held in Athens in the presence of Qatar's ambassador to Greece Waleed bin Mohamed al-Emadi. In Guangzhou, the Consulate General of Qatar held an introductory ceremony in co-operation with Qatar Tourism's representative office through which Consul General of Qatar to Guangzhou Ghanem bin Mohamed al-Maadeed discussed the latest preparations and achievements made by Qatar to make this global sporting event a success in conformity with Qatar National Vision 2030 through the sustainability of the infrastructure and World Cup facilities. The ceremony was attended by President of Yuexiu District Chamber of Commerce along with representatives of major local and international companies, Airport Authority Hong Kong and Alumni Association of Jinan University.
