Veteran Malayalam actor Innocent has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma - a type of blood cancer, according to doctors. He is being treated at a leading private hospital in Kochi. “The diagnosis was made two weeks back and treatment protocols have already begun. He is now taking the treatment at a three-week interval as an out-patient,” said a doctor, who did not wish to be identified. The 64-year-old hugely popular actor has been the president of the Association of Malayalam Artists for the past 12 years. In June, he was re-elected unopposed for another three years.
